Blend

I like it because it is cheap. But, it has no character at all. I have to force myself for the next sip. I still have half a kilo...

Great taste

I use the aeropress to brew my coffee and find that this blend is very forgiving for errors which is good for me when I don’t want to use all the measuring tools. Very tasty

My favourite filter blend (so far!)

Brewed as a pour over with Kinto (1:16 ratio). Very enjoyable, fruity blend. Would also work very well as a cold brew.

Very tasty!
- Brewed with Aeropress, rhino grinder (so can't really give the grind size), 14.5g in 250 ml of water

Yummy stuff

Easy drinking. Nice and fruity.

Hey Buddy is bright, floral and fruity with a profile of juicy berries, stone fruit, dried fruits and a hint of praline. Unbeatable for filter, cold brew and many other soft brewing methods.

FILTER BLEND DESCRIPTION

Comprising an equal split of two amazing origins; Ethiopia and Rwanda, Hey Buddy has developed a cult following amongst our filter fans thanks to its versatility around hot and cold-brewed methods.

The Ethiopian coffee comes to us from the Dumerso Washing Station in Yirgacheffe, a famous region of Ethiopian Coffee. Female owned and managed since 2014, Dumerso employ’s and trains a 95% female workforce of up to 400 staff seasonally, and works with a network of 330 local smallhold farmers. Hirut Birhanu, a coffee industry veteran with an astounding two decades of experience in production, processing and trading, is the driving force behind the operation.

The Rwandan coffee comes to us from the Mwito and Gatare washing stations of the West Nyamasheke region of Rwanda, via the Rwanda Trading Company (RTC). RTC focuses on providing economic freedom and security for smallholder farmers, by building resilient and transparent supply chains, and more than 80% of their coffee is fully traceable to the farmer. West Nyamasheke is a beautiful landscape, covered in wetlands fed by the nearby Lake Kivu.

This blend of coffees come together to create a crisp, clean and fruit forward cup with vibrant acidity. Simple and approachable, it’s no surprise this filter blend has been a mainstay on our coffee menu for eight years.
